The vibrant colors of our Nations flags stood proudly along the sidewalks of the Mt Zion Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. on Saturday, July 3rd, 2010.
The vibrant colors of the many different motorcycles of "The Patriot Guard Riders" were there in countless numbers to protect the family and friends of their loved one, PFC Bryan Haynes, who was killed in action last week in Iraq. Danny and I decided to ride with these good folks and to pay our respects to the family while we were there. Unfortunately, The Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka Kansas had threatened to disrupt the services of this local hero and the fine CMA groups of Tri-State area wasn't having any of that.... They made quite a showing and got plenty of support from the local community. It was quite humbling to be a part of this service. This is sort of an Americana look at football, its players, referee, linesmen, coaches and its fans. |
